Yes, please!
Glad it's getting a physical release worth getting.
Great work, Sekai Project.

I was able to get an early bird slot for the physical copy.

I hope that after this Sekai project will go after Air, Kanon and my all time favorite Little Busters.

Don't we all? I liked rewrite more than LBs tho Smile Shizuru and Kotori are just unbeatable.

"almost the same" and ""to Match" are pretty different things.

Thieves. They won't work on projects not touched by the fan community.

First of all: This is Clannad. A fan translation shouldn't stop the most people possible from being able to enjoy it and support an official release. Not to mention the fact that Visual Art's/Key probably don't care about whether or not a fan translation was done at some point. They made the game, and if they allow an official English version to be released, it's entirely their decision.

Plus, nothing is being stolen here. Sekai Project is working on it themselves and they're hiring translators for their own release.

The 2004 edition physical release will only be available through the Kickstarter campaign.

Whah? So the physical release will not be available outside Kickstarter? Or is it just this particular 2004 edition? And here I'm hoping to see CLANNAD in game stores...

I guess mainly because the popular VNs already got fan translated yeaaars ago, for a reason - popularity. At least finally we'll get an official localization and that's good enough. If you have any recommendation on good VNs the fan-translators have yet to touch, I guess it doesn't hurt to try contacting them.

If they get their hand with Angel Beats! and release the English version around the same time as the Japanese version, I'll be very very glad.

As a side-note, WAS ~ The Hourglass of Lepidoptera~ is just $4,500 short from reaching the $46,000 Stretch Goal of having the game fully voiced.

I'm guessing it might be one and the same, can't be actually sure quite yet. But we'll see soon enough.

First it was "I bet they'll censor an ALL AGES VN" and now this. Fucks sake say some remotely positive for once.

High five to the handful of $7000 tier backers. I wish I had the cash to go all in on something like this.

Where does the Clannad VN sit in regards to other VN? Is it a classic VA, an average one, or is it a dud? Or somewhere in between?

Bahahahahaha. SekaiProject have already said that because of the poor quality of the fan translation, they wont be touching it. This is going to be fully translated by the professional translators they're hiring, so stop being so bitter. Do you not remember what the fan translation was like? Sure it was amazing being able to play clannad before now, and for that I cannot express how thankful I am to those who spent their time translating the game, but as a whole, it was not high quality. A lot of it was computer translated and then edited. It'd take more time salvaging the fan translation for a commercial release, then retranslating from scratch.

Story-wise, Clannad is a top-tier visual novel, hence why its getting so much attention and is so expensive. The quality of the visuals (especially now that it's 10 years old) is probably a matter of personal opinion.

Sekai Project might include HD assets, depending whether or not they'll meet their (as-of-yet unannounced) Stretch Goal. There isn't any information about the kind of HD-ing (a post-processing and resizing or redoing the art assets), but the possibility of a more-recent looking visuals isn't low
