Zombie Land Saga, Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer Win TAAF Anime of the Year Awards

The Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) announced the winners of its Animation of the Year awards for works and individuals on Thursday. Zombie Land Saga won the television category for works and Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer won the animated film category.
The winners of the individual awards are as follows:
- Original Work/Screenplay Category: Jukki Hanada (A Place Further Than the Universe, Love Live! Sunshine!!, Steins;Gate 0, Bloom Into You)
- Director Category: Yoshiaki Kyougoku (Laid-Back Camp)
- Animator Category: Hitomi Kariya (New Animator Grand Prix winner)
- Sound/Performance Category: Mamoru Miyano (Free! Dive to the Future, Zombie Land Saga, PERSONA 5 the Animation)
There was also a winner for the Background/Color/Video Category but the winner declined the award.
Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer also won the film category for the festival's Anime Fan award, which is based on fan votes. On the television anime side, Zombie Land Saga ranked at #5 while Banana Fish took the top spot.
The judges chose from 524 titles that debuted in whole or in part between October 15, 2017 and October 13, 2018. TAAF will take place from March 8-11.
